House speaker meets chairman of PNC

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)  Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Atef Tarawneh discussed with Palestinian National Council (PNC) Chairman Salim Zanoun and the accompanying delegation, issues of common interest, mainly the Palestinian cause.

Tarawneh reviewed the strong Jordanian-Palestinian ties, which, he said, serve the Palestinian issue, adding that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, does not spare any effort to serve the Palestinian cause at all regional and international forums.

"The Lower House and the Senate signed a joint communiqué today to urge all international parliaments to pressure their governments to recognize the State of Palestine, and at the same time thanked all states and parliaments that have already done so," the speaker added.

Jordan, Tarawneh added, will place all its capabilities at the service of the Palestinian side and will continue supporting the Palestinian issue at all forums.

During the meeting, the two sides stressed the need to maintain cooperation and coordination to serve the Palestinian issue.

Zanoun voiced his appreciation for His Majesty's supportive stance towards the Palestinian issue as well as the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
