Lower House Deputy Speaker meets Iranian, Azeri Ambassadors


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)  Lower House Deputy Speaker, Ahmad Safadi, met separately on Monday, with Iranian Ambassador Mojtaba Ferdousi Pour, and Azeri Ambassador, Sabir Aghabayov.

The Iranian ambassador thanked Safadi for opening an exhibition of Iranian products last Wednesday.

Both officials discussed topics of interest to the two countries, especially parliamentary ones, and ways of strengthening ties through the Jordanian-Iranian friendship committee.

They also discussed issues of mutual concern, particularly the Palestinian issue that is of concern to both parties.

The Deputy Speaker also met with Azeri Ambassador to Jordan, who conveyed a message from the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Ogtay Asadov, to his Jordanian counterpart, Atef Tarawneh, congratulating him for his re-election to the post for the second time.

Safadi and Aghabayov discussed ways to activate and develop parliamentary relations between the two countries' legislative houses through the Jordanian-Azerbaijani brotherly committee.
