Salesman stands trial over tenancy contract forgery

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)  A man who forged a municipality tenancy contract, after altering the information of the document, and submitted it along with other documents in order to get a visa issued for his wife, has been referred to the Dubai Criminal Court on the charge of forgery.

The case dates back to June this year, when the Sri Lankan sales executive, 26, identified as B.R.J, submitted an application to apply for his wife's visa at the entry permits counter at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai.

The officer at the counter checked the tenancy contract and found the stamp on the contract to be fake as it did not match the original seal. He then verified the information on the contract and on checking the electricity bill number, he found out the information was forged and actually belonged to another contract.

B.R.J was held and referred to the Public Prosecution, which accused him of forging an official document. He was sent to the criminal court to stand trial for forgery.
