Bahraini police arrest two wanted terrorists


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced Sunday the arrest of two persons in connection with deadly terrorist attacks on the policemen in Al-Akar Al-Sharqi town, south of Manama.

The two wanted persons had received life sentences in absentia, chief of the public security dept. Maj.-Gen. Tareq Al-Hassan said.

During the security operation the two men, using firearms, attempted to resist the policemen who were able to subdue them, BNA news agency cited Al-Hassan as saying.

The operation led to the seizure of a pistol, improvised explosive devices, detonators and other items that could be used in the making of explosives, he added.

Explosives experts managed to defuse the devices before adding them to the seizures as part of the legal proceedings, he added.
