(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Saturday has condemned Israel's decision to build 380 settlement units in occupied East Jerusalem as well as Beit Lahm and stressed the need for the international community to take action in preventing Israel's settlements.
The decision to construct 307 settlements in East Jerusalem and 73 in Bait Lahm is considered to be in defiance of international law and Geneva conventions as well as a major setback to the efforts made to restore peace talks, said foreign affairs ministry spokesperson Badr Abdel-Ati.
Egypt called on the international community to put an end to Israeli activities in the occupied territories to prevent bloodshed, he added.
