Heads of GCC Olympic Committees convene in Kuwait


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The 82nd meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Heads of Olympic Committees of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states was held here Saturday.

"The meeting discussed the draft GCC sports development strategy, a proposal to establish GCC sports dispute resolution body, the draft budgets of organizing committees and plan of action for 2015," Secretary General of Bahraini Olympic Committee Abdulrahman Askar told KUNA following the meeting.

He added that the participants also lauded Oman's arrangements for the upcoming GCC women games, planned next March.

"The conferees also reviewed preparations for Qatar's hosting of the second GCC beach games in April and Saudi Arabia's hosting of the second GCC games in October, 2015." During the meeting, Secretary General of Kuwaiti Olympic Committee Obaid Zayed hailed the fruitful cooperation among the GCC states in the sports domain.

He also highlighted the strenuous efforts exerted by the GCC General Secretariat to boost and develop GCC sports.

Kuwait will host on Sunday the 13th joint meeting for Executive Bureau and Organizing Committee of the GCC Sports.
