(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Fire resulting from the recent missile attacks on Al-Sidra oil terminal in the Oil Crescent region, north Libya, has spread to two more storage tanks on Saturday. The attacks, launched by Fajr Libya (Dawn of Libya) militia with a speedboat on Thursday, set ablaze one tank before spreading to other two tanks yesterday, spokesman of the military troops in the Oil Crescent Ali Al-Hasi told KUNA.
"There are five storage tanks blazing now at Al-Sidra oil port," he affirmed, noting that "the farm tank" complex at the port consists of 19 tanks.
The total storage capacity of the facility amounts to 2.6 million barrels, according to an insider of the Tripoli-based Waha Oil Company (WOC) - the operator of the terminal.
The blazing fire resulted in the loss of 1.63 million barrels, the WOC official said under anonymity.
