(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) The body of an Egyptian doctor's daughter was found in Libya's Sirte late Thursday, state-owned MENA news agency quoted a medical source in Libya's Ibn Sina hospital.
The girl's father, Dr. Magdy Sobhy, and his wife were both killed on Tuesday while their daughter was abducted, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
According to state-media, the assailants are still unidentified.
The ministry added that it is investigating "the criminal events" and that it was in touch with Libyan authorities.
In the Tuesday statement, the foreign ministry called on Egyptians residing in Libya to exercise extreme caution. It also warned Egyptians travelling to Libya in the light of the unstable situation in the country.
In September, an Egyptian citizen was shot dead in Sirte after engaging in an argument with two armed men.
Following the break-away General Khalifa Haftar's declaration of war on "terrorism" in May 2014, a surge of violence has increased in Libya. Many Egyptians have been victims of the violence in Libya, particularly in the city of Benghazi.
