Dubai: Two Pakistanis were each sentenced to seven years in prison for gang-raping a Filipina inside a parked bus and robbing her after posing as policemen.

The Dubai Criminal Court on Thursday also ordered the deportation of the two convicts — both Pakistani drivers — identified as N.M.K 33 and A.K.F. 27 after serving their jail term.

The case dates back to December 31 last year when the 31-year-old victim attended a party with her in a night club. The prime suspect N.M.K was sitting next to her at the club and told her he was a Belgian national and worked as an investor in the UAE. He further told her that he had a showroom in the World Trade Centre. He told the victim who was looking for a job that he was alone in the country and asked her to accompany him to his hotel. He also offered her a job. The victim who got impressed with N.M.K’s profile agreed to go with him to his hotel. They hailed a taxi and after getting off the cab N.M.K took the victim to a parked bus.

He then opened the door of the bus and pushed the woman inside. He told her that he was Criminal Investigation Department officer and slapped her. The woman was shocked to see another man inside the bus the second suspect A.K.F also told her that he was a cop. N.M.K asked her that with how many women did she share her accommodation and whether she had money.

A.K.F grabbed her and asked her not to resist. Both the convicts then took turns to rape her.

N.M.K then removed her golden ring and took Dh300 cash from her bag and also stole her mobile phone. The pair left her inside the bus and fled the scene.

The victim informed the police who tracked down the duo and arrested them. They were referred to the Public Prosecution which charged them with kidnapping impersonating rape and robbery. The court found them guilty on the counts leveled against them.
