Russian inflation hits 10.4 percent

(MENAFN) According to Russia's Statistic service, the country's inflation has climbed to reach 10.4 percent, due to prices growing at a faster rate than expected in the country due to the depreciating ruble, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

The new released data showed that consumer prices rose by 0.9 percent last week alone, led by a significant increase in the cost of some products such as sugar, which rose by 7.5 percent.

The country's central bank said earlier this month that it expects inflation to hit 10 percent before the end of the year and then peak at 11.5 percent in the first quarter of 2015.
