Boeing sells 60 737 planes to Air China for USD60b

(MENAFN) US aerospace maker Boing announced selling 60 of its 737 jets to Air China for more than USD60 billion in its latest major deal with a carrier from an emerging economy, Arab News reported.

The deal includes next-generation 7337 and 737 MAX airplanes, which are well known for the fuel efficiency, with an expected delivery date of between 2016 and 2020, Air China said.

Air travel growth in emerging markets such as China, India and Indonesia is expected to increase in light of the mismatch between economies that account for only 14 percent of its airplanes.

"Our long-standing partnership with Air China dates back to the airline's beginning and we are proud the 737 has been part of their success," Boeing's vice president of sales and marketing for Northeast Asia said.
