Kuwait Bans Birds Imports from UK

(MENAFN- QNA) Kuwait's Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources (PAAFR) announced on Wednesday a ban on imports of all birds, eggs and chicks from the United Kingdom.

A statement by PAAF Chairperson and Director-General Nabila Al-Khalil said the ban was due to a report from the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) indicating the outbreak of bird flu (H5N2) in the United Kingdom, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

The PAAFR asserted that all imports of birds from the UK should be subject to regulations issued by Animal Health Department at The Authority.
