Qatar- Ticket sales for ExxonMobil Open off to a flying start


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Tickets for the final (January 10) and semi-finals (January 9) of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open have already been sold out while those for the quarter-finals are moving fast.

World number one Novak Djokovic, defending champion Rafael Nadal, world number seven Tomas Berdych and world number 10 David Ferrer will be in action during the ATP World Tour event, which kicks off here on January 5.

People can attend the qualifying for the main draw on January 3 and 4 for free. In 2014, two qualifiers Dustin Brown and Peter Gojowczyk, both from Germany, made it through to the quarter-final and semi-final respectively.

"The tickets are selling extremely well for the Qatar ExxonMobil Open, which shows that people in Doha and Qatar are aware of the quality of the players such as Djokovic and Nadal and many others who are coming for the tournament. It is great to see that the semis and finals are already sold out. Those who cannot get tickets for the last two days can come for the early rounds while tickets are still available and see fantastic tennis too," said Qatar ExxonMobil Open Tournament Director Karim Alami.

A popular day for tennis fans would be January 7. The second round of the competition will held on this day and it is common for the stars to get tested or even beaten in this round.

The Qatar ExxonMobil Open will be held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex and tickets are available now at City Center, Landmark, Lagoona, Villaggio, on-site at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex and from www.qatartennis.org.

Play commences on January 3 at 11am, on January 4 it starts at 3.30pm. Main draw play starts at 3.30pm on January 5-8. Semi-final play starts at 4.30pm and the finals commence from 5.30pm. Gates open 90 minutes before the start of play each day.
