Iran's South Pars annual revenue hit USD56b


(MENAFN) According to an Iranian official, the country's annual revenues from South Pars, the world's largest gas field in the Persian Gulf, have reached USD56 billion, Iran Daily reported.

Currently, 270 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas, 400,000 barrels of gas condensates, 8,000 tons of liquid gas, 1,000 tons of sulfur and 5,200 tons of ethane are produced daily in the gas field.

The Managing Director of South Pars Gas Complex said he projected that once the number of refineries reached 14 from the already existing five and annual revenue to hit USD167 billion in the next three years.

Meanwhile, the manager of dispatching center said Iran exported more than 577 billion cubic meters of sweet gas from the giant field, while gas exports reached USD340 billion in the past 13 years.
