Jordan FM, Dutch Counterpart Discuss Regional Issues


(MENAFN- QNA) Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh and his Dutch counterpart Bert Koenders discussed on Tuesday the latest developments in the Middle East and challenges facing the two countries, the region and the world, Jordan's official Petra news agency reported.

The two officials also reviewed the Palestinian issue and ongoing discussions at the U.N. Security Council in this regard as Judeh highlighted the importance of beefing up international efforts to resume negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, noting that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state goes in line with Jordanian national interests.

They also touched on the crisis in Syria with Judeh reiterating Jordan's stance that calls for a political settlement that guarantees Syria's security and territorial integrity with the participation of all segments of the Syrian society.

Additionally, the two sides reviewed developments in Iraq and Libya and the importance of reaching political solutions to all issues through dialogue.
