22 December 2014: BMW recently entered the family MPV market with the 2-series Active Tourer which is also the company’s first front-wheel-drive model. It’s aimed squarely at people who need more space but don’t want to sacrifice the quality and driving pleasure of a premium car.
In 2015 the company is taking a step to make the Active Tourer even more family-friendly with the introduction of a seven-seat version. Available with the same trim levels and engines as the existing car including the economical three-cylinder 1.5 litre petrol engine shared with the Mini the seven-seater will have two extra seats that fold flat into the boot floor when not needed. A four-wheel-drive version using BMW’s X-Drive system will also be offered.
