City Sightseeing Sharjah Adds New Buses and Four New Stops

(MENAFNEditorial) City Sightseeing Sharjah, the sightseeing bus project launched by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) in collaboration with City Sightseeing Worldwide, has announced the addition of four new stops around the city, as well as two new buses, bringing the total number of buses operating in Sharjah to five. The step aims at expanding the services provided by this project, and including additional monuments and attractions to the route.

The new City Sightseeing Sharjah route now includes 20 stops around the city of Sharjah, with the four new stops being Sahara Center, Safeer Mall, the Book Roundabout, and Sharjah City Centre. This adds to previously existing stops, which are the Central Souq, Al Noor Mosque, Al Nakheel Park, the Heart of Sharjah, Sharjah Aquarium, Al Majaz Waterfront, Mega Mall, Al Qasba, the Fish Market, the Flag Island, Al Montazah, and many other monuments and attractions.

Commenting on the new announcement, Shurooq Chief Operating Officer Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer said: "City Sightseeing Sharjah continues to achieve remarkable success year on year, and 2014 has witnessed even larger numbers of Sharjah residents and visitors looking for exploring the city's main touristic, cultural, commercial, and natural attractions. Announcing Sharjah as a Capital of Arab Tourism for 2015 has motivated us to increase the number of tour buses, in an attempt to cope with the expected increase in numbers of tourists. We have also added 4 new stops to our route, giving passengers the chance to explore more monuments in our beautiful city."

Al Qaseer highlighted that the voice guide available on buses in 7 languages (Arabic, English, Russian, German, Mandarin, Spanish, and Urdu), as well as the free Wi-Fi service added to all buses lately, and the minimized waiting time between one bus and the next, are guaranteed to attract more passengers, and tourists in particular. The tour has become a comprehensive experience covering all main attractions in the city, in a comfortable and tourist-friendly atmosphere.

Tours on the double-decker buses (each with a capacity of 72 passengers) are available all week long and around the year, at affordable costs, as a 24 hour ticket costs 85 AED for adults and 45 AED for children. Passengers may use the buses on any of the three routes: The Red Route (13 stops - 1 hour 30 minutes total), the Green Route (the cultural tour, 8 stops - 60 minutes), and the Blue Route (the night tour, 12 stops - 1 hour 30 minutes).

City Sightseeing Sharjah has reach great milestones since its launch in 2012, including organising evening tours and making tickets available in over 60 locations in Sharjah, Dubai, and Ajman, as well as online on www.city-sightseeing.com.

The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) launched City Sightseeing Sharjah in 2012, in collaboration with City Sightseeing Worldwide, the world leading sightseeing tours provider. The tours were operational by January 2013. City Sightseeing Sharjah is the first tour project under the trademark City Sightseeing, which operates on 5 continents around the world, and in over 100 of the most important cities in the world.
