Dubai Courts celebrates another year of excellence in 2014


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM))  Dubai Courts recently held its annual celebration for its employees, where expert Tarish Eid Al Mansouri, Director-General of Dubai Courts, honoured the senior employees and the winners of the 9th edition of the Dubai Courts' Excellence Awards Programme-2014.

Those present included Judge Dr. Ibrahim Imam, Head of the Court of Cassation; Judge Isa Mohammed Sharif, Head of the Court of Appeal; and Judge Jasem Mohammed Baqir, Head of the Court of First Instance, as well as the heads of specialised courts, department directors, and the staff of the Dubai Courts.

Al Mansouri stressed that paying heed to national human resources reflects the vision of the country's prudent leadership in building a well-qualified, knowledge-based and capable generation to serve the nation. The citizens are the true wealth of the country, playing a pivotal role in boosting the development and progress of the UAE, he added.

The Dubai Courts has been keen to honour distinguished individuals or departments each year, under the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who launched several awards to honour these distinguished parties in Dubai in particular and in the UAE in general, he noted.

The Dubai Courts' awards aim to motivate the employees and departments to improve their performance and operations. Additionally, it seeks to raise awareness on the need for a culture of excellence, quality and transparency to make it an integrated element of the work environment at government entities. The awards are also intended to kindle the spirit of competition between the departments and sectors and to develop the abilities of the staff and qualify them to maintain the best practices in providing services, Tarish said.

The efficiency and success of institutions rely on the efficiency and skills of their human resources, which enable them to achieve their strategic objectives, he added. The Dubai Courts, having spent many years serving justice in Dubai, possesses efficient and experienced staff worthy of honour and praise for their efforts over the last 25 years.

The Dubai Courts honoured the winners of the ninth edition of the Excellence Awards Programme-2014, which included many categories, such as administrative excellence. The winner of the excellence achievement category (distinguished court) is the Commercial Court; the winner of the distinguished judicial department category is the first full commercial department; and the winner of the distinguished department category is the civil cases department. The social media department is the winner of the distinguished initiative category, while the winner of the innovative department category is the labour and fees execution department. The innovative idea category winner is "an idea out of the box." Tarish also honoured winners in the categories of special career excellence, which included distinguished judge Ahmed Thabet Al Amri and distinguished execution judge Ahmed Obaid Al Mansouri. Meanwhile, the honoured winners in categories of career excellence included the distinguished innovative director, Omar Mohamed Shreif; the distinguished administrative employee, Yaaqoub Mohamed Ahmed from the execution department; the distinguished employee in a specialised job, Soaad Abdullah Freedi from the department of administrative and financial affairs; the distinguished employee in field work, Mohamed Bahaa Aldin Noaman from the execution department; and the distinguished female employee, Mariam Salem Al Shamsi. New employees who were also honoured at the event are Mohamed Hassan Al Sarouh and Mona Darwish Mezan, and the winner of the innovative employee category is Sheikh Abdullah Al Ketbi.

Winners in the categories of service stars were also honoured. The star of customer services is Ali Mohamed Hassan from the execution department, and the best correspondent is Moahmed Abdullah Ahmed. The best execution warden is Moahmed Bahaa Al Din, and the distinguished secretary is Mohamed Isa Al Baloushi. The star of the "reply with a good omen" initiative is Jaber Belal Al Baloushi from the notary department, and the star of the "please contact" initiative is Ahmed Al Shehi from the personal statuses department. The winner of the service category is Mohamed Nour from the administrative and financial affairs department.

He also honoured 70 employees for completing 25 years at the Dubai Courts. The top three departments to obtain the highest levels of employee satisfaction are human resources, financial control, and the center for the amicable settlement of disputes.

The Innovative Department In addition, Tarish Eid Al Mansouri, Director-General of Dubai Courts, launched a new initiative for 2015, titled "the Innovative Department." It includes several programmes, such as innovation stock, innovators' club, innovation laboratories, innovations seminars, innovation dialogue, and innovators' partners and the award category for the innovative regulatory unit, which will be kicked off next year.

The celebration included a special "Loyalty Print" activity, during which Tarish Al Mansouri; Judge Abdulqader Mosa Mohamed, Deputy Director-General of Dubai Courts; heads of courts; and the directors of departments, in addition to their employees, imprinted their fingerprints on a painting to form the UAE flag. It also included a section on the "Charter of Pledge," wherein the judicial and administrative leadership of the Dubai Courts vowed to provide a stimulating work environment that enables the judges and staff to apply creativity and innovation in all the judicial and administrative areas of Dubai Courts.
