Iran's inflation rate to drop to 17 percent in 2015

(MENAFN) According to the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), the country's inflation rate is projected to drop to 17 percent by mid-March of 2015, Iran Daily reported.

The governor said that effective and expert measures of the government in the economic field have brought down the inflation rate from 42 percent last year to current level.

The CBI chief noted that during the same period, fluctuations in hard currency dropped by 74 percent and facilitated long-term investment by the private sector in industrial and economic fields.

"One of the major achievements of the government in the past 18 months is the outstanding reduction of inflation rate through establishment of calm and stability in the economic environment," he said.
