(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the blessed and positive steps on the track of bilateral cooperation between Qatar and Egypt.
In a press statement published by Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the Bahraini government commended here on Sunday the keenness of the leaders of Egypt and Qatar on strengthening and consolidating these relations to bring prosperity and progress to all countries in the region.
The government also expressed its gratitude to the key role of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdelaziz in leading Arab joint action and to his keenness on cementing Arab solidarity.
This role is very significant as the region is facing hard conditions and risks, the statement said.
It underlined the eagerness of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to support constantly Egypt and its people as well as promote relations with it in recognition of its historical stances toward the GCC's safety and security.
The statement noted that the GCC countries showed this eagerness through the Riyadh agreement, approved by the GCC leaders, aimed at supporting Egypt and enhancing its security and stability.
The statement highlighted Egypt's pivotal role in supporting issues of Arab and Islamic nations.
