Iraqi delegation visits Petra News Agency

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)  An Iraqi journalists' delegation visited Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Saturday, and was briefed on the Agency's work, its media and its role in training journalists.

Director General of state-run Petra News Agency Faisal Shboul noted the developments of Jordan-Iraqi ties at all levels, indicating that the "strength of Iraq reflects positively on Jordan and the Arab nation".

Further, Shboul spoke about Petra's media experience and its presence on Jordan and Arab media, as it is the only official broadcaster of Jordanian news, indicating the agency's role in training local and Arab media personnel, in addition to it being the headquarter of the training center of the General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA).

Shboul noted the Agency's readiness to provide training programs to Arabs, explaining that Petra conducted a number of training courses, which some 700 journalists benefited from during 2014.

Later, the Iraqi delegation toured the editorial and technical departments and learned about stages of news writing and broadcasting at Petra.
