Eurozone's inflation rate to turn negative in coming months

(MENAFN) European Central Bank's Vice President said that he forecasts the eurozone's inflation to turn negative in the coming months, but not seeing a risk of deflation, Arab News reported.

Annual inflation in the area has slowed to 0.3 percent in November as energy prices dipped, putting it well below the ECB's target of inflation close to but just below the 2 percent.

"We now expect a negative inflation rate in the coming months and that is something that every central bank has to look at very closely," ECB's Vice President said in a statement.
