(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) US President Barack Obama on Friday signed legislation to further enhance cooperation between the United States and Israel, mainly in defence and security fields.
The US-Israel Strategic Partnership Act will promote cooperation between the two countries in a host of domains, including missile defence systems, homeland security and cyber security as well as trade, fuel technology and water.
The bill raises the value of emergency US weaponry kept in Israel from $200 million to a total of $1.8 billion.
It also offers a verbal guarantee that Israel will maintain a qualitative military edge in the region.
