(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Drawn by the market potential nine cosmetics and beauty products firms from Thailand participated in the recent Oman Woman and Child Expo.

This was the first time that beauty firms from Thailand exhibited their products at the expo.

Speaking on behalf of the participants Ketmanee Lertkicha chairperson of Thai Cosmetics Manufacturers' Association said 'This was the first time that we participated in the exhibition. We know that people in the Middle East like Thai products. We have been in the colour cosmetics industry for a long time. The new thing is that we are promoting natural products are that good for the skin. Customers have been increasingly switching to natural products that give results.'

Thailand is a manufacturing hub for internationally famous brands from the US the European Union and Japan. In addition a number of Thai brands are gaining popularity worldwide.

Ketmanee who has her own skincare and haircare range D'vine added 'People and beauticians look for quality and efficacy nowadays. I think the most important part of being an expert in the cosmetic industry is that the person who owns a particular brand must essentially understand the difference between the effects of chemicals and natural ingredients on the skin.

'My brand D'vine is to represent Thailand at ASEAN Beauty 2015. In 2012 we were ranked number one in the world for haircare products and number 12 for skincare. I think our products speak for themselves. The response that we received in Oman is really good. Some beauty institutions have approached us for our products. We have online order options.'
