Iraqi PM to visit Kuwait Sunday

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi is scheduled to start on Sunday an overseas trip that will take him to Kuwait and Turkey.

The trip is part of Al-Abadi's efforts to lobby regional support to Iraq's efforts to combat terrorism and strengthen ties with neighbors, his spokesman Rafed Jabbouri told KUNA here on Saturday evening.

"In Kuwait, the Prime Minister will discuss with the Kuwaiti leaders issues of common interests, including security, economic and investment cooperation as well as the oil prices," he said.

Al-Abadi will start his visit to Ankara on Thursday in response to an invitation from his Turkish counterpart to co-chair the second session of the supreme council on the bilateral strategic cooperation, Jabbouri added.
