Military Warriors Support Foundation Announces Partnership with the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl to Honor a Veteran with a Special Presentation

Montgomery AL. (Dec 20) –The Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) is excited to be back at the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl. The partnership affords the opportunity to honor one of our nation’s heroes during a special on field presentation during the 2014 holiday bowl season.  Retired Lance Corporal Andrew Sokol will be recognized as a veteran who received the gift of a mortgage free home donated by Bank of America earlier this year.

“The Raycom Media Camellia Bowl is an invaluable partner to our foundation in honoring our nation’s heroes and we are excited to be able to work with them this year. “ said Ken Eakes Executive Director of the Military Warriors Support Foundation. “Raycom Media Camellia Bowl’s passion to support our veterans parallels our own Mission.  Together we can accomplish what we can only individually dream.”

This is MWSF’s 2nd year to partner with ESPN and the 1st year with the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl in honoring one of our nation’s heroes and their family with this unique and life changing event.  Veteran and Home recipient Andrew Sokol and his wife will be formally presented a ceremonial key to commemorate this special event. Retired Lance Corporal Sokol received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained during combat operations in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.  Sokol served in the US Marines Corps and deployed to Afghanistan in 2012.  He was medically retired and is also the recipient of a Combat Action Ribbon Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal Afghanistan Campaign Medal and Marksman Rifle Qualification Badge among others.

The Sokol’s will spend their first holiday season in their home and are excited to be back home and close to family.
