As UK farming awaits the introduction of the new Nitrates Directive Plan 2015-2018 farmers will be examining ways of improving water quality and agricultural nutrient management.  Peterborough-based Enduramaxx highlights that one tactic towards managing nitrates safely is through the responsible and adequate storage of fertiliser and indeed all other farming chemicals.

Announced by Environment Minister Mark Durkan and Agriculture Minister Michelle O’Neill the Nitrates Directive Action Programme for the next four years will come into effect on January 1st 2015.  Farmers will be able to download leaflets on the Nitrates Action Programme for 2015-2018 from the DARD and DOE websites from the New Year and the programme builds on improvements in water quality and agricultural nutrient management that were see over the period of the last two action programmes.  With many measures carried forward changes will be implemented in a way that minimises burden or cost to farmers whilst protecting the environment.

Enduramaxx provides storage tanks to the farming and agricultural sectors with a tank specific to storing most liquid types.  The company also provides rainwater tanks and WRAS approved potable storage tanks.  Enduramaxx horizontal and vertical storage tanks enable farmers to store fertiliser a major source of nitrates safely and in optimum conditions.  Tanks are made from a very rugged single piece of rotationally-moulded polyethylene.  The chances of damaging the tank is minimal and thus the potential for leakage into the environment is very slim indeed.

In addition to the safe storage of fertiliser and all other liquids and chemicals used in farming safely and securely with sizes ranging up to 30000 litres available farmers stand to make considerable savings on bulk buying as well as saving on mixing and preparation times.
