Dubai Culture to celebrate Arabic language day today


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Dubai Culture is is marking the annual International Arabic Language Day with an array of activities aimed at highlighting the beauty and essence of Arabic language.

Dubai: The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) the emirate’s dedicated authority for culture arts and heritage is marking the annual International Arabic Language Day with an array of activities aimed at highlighting the beauty and essence of Arabic language.



Held under the theme “Arabic Letter” Dubai Culture will host a series of workshops interactive activities competitions and theatrical performances at Arabian Centre from 5pm to 9pm today. Each activity will build on the integral aesthetics and value of the letters that make up Arabic language. Participants of the performances will also be awarded for their showcases.



Celebrating the essence of the evolution of Arabic language and its growing popularity as one of the most prevalent languages across platforms everywhere International Arabic Language Day underscores the UAE’s goal to strengthen and preserve Emirati national identity.



Saeed Al Nabouda Acting Director-General of Dubai Culture said “As the driving force of Dubai’s culture and arts industry Dubai Culture has been committed to encouraging the use of Arabic language since its inception. Complementing the vision in the Arabic Language Charter of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of the and Ruler of Dubai the authority will once again put the spotlight on one of the world’s fastest growing languages this year.



“Through the diverse array of activities we are focused on encouraging our nation’s Arabic calligraphers to bring their works to the forefront enabling residents and visitors across the country to revel in the glory of each Arabic letter underlined by our theme for this year’s celebrations.”



Dubai Culture will hold the Arabic Language Day celebrations in collaboration with Dubai Municipality Dubai Education Zone Erqa’a Centre for Arabic Language and Tender Ambassadors from the Dubai Youth Club.
