(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Ministry of Interior has discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation with the Federal Customs Authority. This took place during the seventh meeting of the Higher Joint Committee, held in Al Ittihad Hall at the Ministry of Interior.
The meeting, which was chaired by Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha'far, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Interior, comes in line with the ongoing cooperation and mutual collaboration to establish and exchange commercial and customs security-related practices between the Ministry of Interior, the Federal Customs Authority and the local customs, being the Ministry's main partners in this regard.
The meeting addressed a number of topics listed on the agenda, and ways to boost mutual cooperation and collaboration in various fields between the two parties, namely cooperation in managing customs risks, exchanging information and statistics, strategic planning, exchanging expertise via training courses and organisational excellence.
The meeting was attended by Major General Humaid Al Hadidi, Commander in Chief of Sharjah Police, Khaled Ali Al Boustany, Acting Director-General of the Federal Customs Authority, heads of local Customs Departments at the national level and a number of officers from the Ministry of Interior and police GHQs across the country.
