(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) US President Barack Obama spoke on Tuesday with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to congratulate him on his party's impressive victory in last Sunday's elections and to thank him for his strong leadership on a range of bilateral, regional and global issues over the last year, the White House announced on Wednesday.
"The two leaders discussed the ambitious agenda in U.S.-Japan relations for 2015, including completing Trans Pacific Partnership negotiations and revision of the bilateral defense guidelines," the announcement said.
"The President noted that he looks forward to working together with Prime Minister Abe in the new year."
