Indonesia seeks to expand export to Oman

(MENAFN) Indonesia's Trade Ministry said that the country aims at increasing its trade with the Omani market, as the sultanate's economy continues with its strong growth, Xinhua reported.

Indonesia said that its plan to expand bilateral trade with Oman is part of the country's efforts to win competition in the global market, as well as its plans to seek alternative markets for its exports following the decline in its exports to its usual markets in European countries and the United States.

As of last year, the total bilateral trade between the two countries reached USD462.34 million, while in 2013 alone the bilateral trade stood at USD209.38 million, in which 99 percent was dominated by non-oil and gas products.

"Oman is one of countries in the world with increasing economic growth, providing new market opportunities, "Acting Director General of Indonesia National Export Development Agency (BPEN) said.
