Qatar, US ties set to expand: envoy


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The US Ambassador to Qatar Dana Shell Smith attributed what she called "the extraordinary progress" in the State of Qatar to "the vision of its leadership and ingenuity of its people," stressing that the partnership between the United States and the State of Qatar is all set to expand in the coming period.

Talking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the National Day, the US ambassador greeted the people of Qatar on behalf of the American people saying, "On my behalf and on behalf of the people of the United States I extend to all Qataris warmest congratulations on the occasion of their National Day."

She said: "The State of Qatar has made extraordinary progress in all fields, thanks to the vision of wise leadership and ingenuity of its people. The Qatari people have a lot to be proud of. It is clear that the State of Qatar recognises the importance of the use of the immense wealth to promote sustainable development in line with what is stated in Qatar National Vision 2030, and the United States can play an important role in working with the Qatari government and people to achieve their goals through the exchange of experiences. "

She stressed that "Qatar is a key partner to the United States since the establishment of diplomatic relations more than 40 years ago." She expressed confidence that "our partnership will reach broad prospects in the coming decades, and our two countries can accomplish amazing things together. On this festive occasion I extend my best wishes to Qatar, HH the Emir and the government and people of Qatar."
