(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Petroleum International (QPI) hosted an event yesterday at its headquarters to celebrate Qatar National Day. Many employees participated in a range of activities inspired by local traditions and culture.
A large office area was transformed into a traditional majlis adorned with Sadu fabric and Qatari ornaments, bearing resemblance to a traditional gathering of people in a Qatari tent. A spread of authentic Qatari cuisine was served as employees enjoyed cultural activities such as holding a falcon and Gahwa, while the women got their hands painted with henna.
"Celebrating Qatar's National Day is a matter of pride and joy for all of us at Qatar Petroleum International," said Nasser al-Jaidah, CEO.
"I would like to congratulate HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al- Thani, the government, all Qataris, and all those who have worked to fulfil our nation's aspirations.
"With every passing year that we celebrate Qatar National Day, we are coming closer to accomplishing Qatar's National Vision 2030. This year QPI collaborated with Sheikh Eid Charity's Qatar Guest Centre to launch an initiative titled 'The Spirit of Giving' in support of labourers. In the run up to the event, each QPI employee was provided with a box and was encouraged to fill it with in-kind donations for construction labourers as a goodwill gesture in appreciation of their contribution.
