OIC Secretary General condemns assault on school in Pakistan


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM))  The Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, Iyad Ameen Madani, has strongly condemned the bloody assault on a school in Peshawar, Pakistan, resulting in the death of over one hundred people, most of them school children.

Madani in a statement extended his solidarity and condolences to the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in particular to the families of the victims who lost their lives in this "horrific and senseless terrorist attack".

The Secretary-General reiterated the OIC's principled position denouncing all acts of terrorism no matter what the justifications are. He pointed out that groups or individuals brandishing the name of Islam in conducting acts of terror have nothing to do with Islam, nor do they represent it.
