(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Participants in the Consultants and Contractors Creativity Lab, organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, at Grand Hyatt hotel in Dubai, have praised DEWA's latest improvements in their provision of electricity.
Over 200 senior officials and specialists from major engineering consulting and contracting companies took part in the breakout sessions at the Consultants and Contractors Creativity Lab. DEWA's Distribution Power division presented on how it has made recent improvements in getting electricity.
DEWA has cut back procedures from three to two phases, with the time taken to get electricity significantly reduced from 35 to 10 days.
The first phase, which takes 8 days, involves submitting the application to get electricity through a low-voltage cable and deferring payment to the second and final two-day phase. In the second phase, DEWA inspects the quality and safety of connections and supplies electricity through the meter. Installation charges are collected with the first electricity bill.
The Creativity Lab was organised to promote innovation and enhance best organisational practices. The conference recorded remarkable turnout and interactive participation by the audience, particularly in the breakout sessions, where participants brainstormed and discussed ideas, suggestions, and innovative solutions to improve ways to get electricity, and improve the competitiveness of the UAE to first place.
At the Consultants and Contractors Creativity Lab, DEWA exchanged views and discussed ways to enhance cooperation with consultants and contractors, and briefed them on the recent enhancement in its services, e-services and smart applications.
