UAE provides utmost support to health and medical sector to build a healthy society


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM))  Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, President of the National Council for Tourism and Antiquities, delivered a speech at the DNA Health Centre 1st Anniversary ceremony, which was held at St. Ragis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi last Tuesday.

He praised the UAE's efforts in supporting the health and medical care sector to create a healthy society.

In a speech delivered on his behalf by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, he said that under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the strong support and guidance of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Abu Dhabi is seeking to develop the health care system with an excellent response to the needs of its citizens and residents.

"The DNA Health Centre agenda coincides with the government's keenness to provide more modern methods of treatment to upgrade the health system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE in general," he said.

"Abu Dhabi today is considered a medical touristic destination, as it enjoys year-round sunshine, natural islands, vast desert, and green oases enhanced by true traditional hospitality. Besides being one of the safest cities in the Middle East, it is also characterised by modern a infrastructure, top hotels, luxury resorts, and an extensive network of flights linking it to the world," he added.

The ceremony was attended by Shaukat Aziz, Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and a large number of businessmen and medical companies, members of the centre's board of directors, investors from the United States, doctors and the medical team and media representatives.

Mr. Aziz praised the UAE and Pakistan on their growing relationship in all fields, especially in the economic and trade cooperation.

He stressed that the UAE is an ideal destination for investments in health, medicine and medical tourism, "Thanks to the advanced infrastructure and its strategic location and its modernity," he said.

He pointed out that this centre represents a quantum leap in the development of therapeutic tourism in the UAE for its advanced treatment services for the people of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Pakistani high-end customers and many Arab and Asian visitors as well.

He noted that the centre aims to expand its business and operations in the near future through the establishment of an industrial satellite centre in Dubai, as well as signing agreements with a number of leading health and tourism companies. "We have successfully set up a strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, we have plans to establish similar centres in Saudi Arabia and Qatar soon," he said.
