Twin Explosion in Jalalabad City Kill Two People


(MENAFN- QNA) Twin blasts strike Jalalabad city in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan earlier today, leaving two people dead and six others wounded, Afghan Khaama Press (KP) reported.


According to local government officials, the first incident took place following an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion.


The officials further added that the explosion targeted a vehicle of the Afghan national police, while the second blast targeted the vehicle of the provincial passport department director.


According to the local officials, the son of passport department director was killed following the explosion.


No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.


Nangarhar is among the relatively volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating in a number of its remote districts and often carry out insurgency activities.
