China to become largest export market for GCC by 2020

(MENAFN) According to a report by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), China is expected to become the GCC's biggest trading partners by 2020, due to the tremendous growth the bilateral trade grew between the two sides between the 2010-2013 period, Xinhua reported.

The report added that Chinese investment is also rising in construction and wholesale trade and retail, with over 3.000 Chinese companies registered in Dubai, a significant increase compared with only 18 companies in 2005.

"Dubai is at the very center of this. In 2013, China was Dubai's second largest trading partner, and was on course to overtake India after USD21.9 billion of trade was recorded in the first six months of this year," the report said.
