Turkish Lira Hits Record Low

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency)  Turkey's lira hit a record low versus the dollar on Tuesday amid worries over domestic politics and a general concern for emerging markets.
The lira hit 2.41 during intra-day trading to the dollar before making a slight rebound to 2.37. Last month, the lira was trading at about 2.22 to the dollar, dpa reported.
The lira is facing its worst slide since January, when the central bank intervened by raising interest rates in an emergency move. Emerging market currencies, led by the rouble, have been taking hits.
