(MENAFN- QNA) Qatar Red Crescent and Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) have made remarkable achievements in various charitable and humanitarian fields inside and outside Qatar that have included providing assistance and relief to the families in need, promoting poor communities, and giving aid and assistance to displaced persons and refugees in a number of states.
2014 was a year full of achievements for the QRC, as it continued its subsequent success by achieving hundreds of relief, development, health and training projects, and by concluding partnership agreements with governmental and non-governmental entities. QRC also had an effective presence in regional and international forums.
Regarding the local activities, QRC is working at all its activities from the perspective of being a part of the Qatari society aiming at promoting such activities to meet the needs of both its citizens and residents, dedicating all the resources and human and technical potentials it have to achieve that through the cooperation with governmental and non-governmental institutions in what accomplishes the main message of QRC and participates in accomplishing Qatar's national vision 2030.
QRC seeks through its social development programs to promote the standard of living of the modest categories in the society, thorough a number of programs such as educational and health empowerment, emergency assistance programs, psychological support and other programs.
In this context, QRC has accomplished in 2014 social development programs on Qatar with a budget over 23 million QR, between providing the psychological support to challenged persons and taking care of penal institution population and rehabilitation of them. QRC has also signed a cooperation agreement with the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund to finance the QRC development and social projects inside Qatar.
QRC cares about diversifying its activities and services in the area of health so as to include different aspects. QRC, in this respect, undertakes managing, operating and developing the official aid system in the state that has marked wide expansions as the number of ambulances has reached 54 equipped at the highest level to cover and secure most of local and international conferences, athletic and recreational events, and festivals running in the home.
And from health and relief education to the social and occupational one, where the QRC Real project for human development that introduced this year a cultural, social and psychological programs for 25 schools and educational institutions in addition to providing lectures and health outreach services to 10000 worker from 40 companies and 21000 worker from examiners in health centers, and distribute personal hygiene bags on 5000 worker at the end of the first phase of the National Campaign to Prevent and Control Communicable disease (Weqaya).
