Qatar- Intense competition among tribes

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) As part of their preparations for the Qatar National Day celebrations, different tribes of the country are engaged in an intense competition.

Arrayah newspaper reported that each of the tribes is giving finishing touches to preparations at the celebrations site in Al-Rifaa Street.

The tribes are using unique heritage elements that distinguish each of them. While some of them have showcased heritage boats at the entrances of their allotted space, others have displayed the hair tents and ancient utensils.

The tribes have also put up their flags in large numbers. One of the tribes has hoisted a Qatari national flag at such a height that it can be reached only using a crane.

Members of the Al-Karb tribe are preparing for the "Al Ardha" dance, which included sessions of chanting and poetry. Al Sayaar tribe is focusing on heritage shows and poetry reading sessions in addition to competitions between their own members.

The paper has also reported that tribes like Al-Morra and Yam have formed committees consisting of their elders to supervise their preparations for celebrations.
