Kuwaiti news agency, KUNA, quoted the ambassador as saying following his meeting with GCC Red Crescent societies' chairmen and Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs, Rashid Derbas, that he hopes the aid offered to Syrian refugees by GCC countries would contribute in the alleviation of their suffering.

The meeting was also attended by Kuwait's Ambassador to Lebanon, Abdelaal Sulaiman Al-Qenaei, Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Ali Awad al-Asiri and UAE's Charge d'Affaires in Lebanon, Hamad Mohammed al-Junaibi.

It was also attended by representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Lebanon, Nanette Kelly, as well as a number of officials in local and international institutions concerned with refugees' affairs.

They will also hold a number of meetings with senior officials of the Lebanese Red Cross Society, Ministry of Social Affairs and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Lebanon.

Lebanon is hosting the largest number of Syrian refugees, currently around one million, distributed over various regions of the country.
