Kuwaiti Says Frenchman Swindled Him

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The case of forged certificates is not limited only to Bachelor degrees, Masters and PhDs, but also to high school certificates, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting judicial sources. The daily gave an example of two cases. In the first case the suspect used a forged certificate to apply for admission for higher studies at government expense or even at his own expense but after getting the certificate he submits it to the place of his work to get material benefit or promotion and in this case he may not be forgiven because he has committed crimes including 'stealing' public funds.

While in the second case if the suspect is a student and got a fake certificate without working for it, it is possible he may be forgiven because here he is considered as a 'victim of illusory offices'.

Impersonator sought: Police are looking for an unidentified person who was caught red-handed impersonating police in Jahra, reports Al-Qabas daily. When the suspect saw the police approaching he got behind the wheel and sped off. Police pursued him but he abandoned the vehicle and escaped.

In the car police have found a knife, police uniform and drugs. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints from the car.

Kuwaiti says cheated: A Kuwaiti, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the Maidan Hawalli Police Station accusing a Frenchman of swindling him, reports Al-Anba daily. In his complaint the Kuwaiti said he knows the suspect who is a businessman and he gave the man KD 31,000 to invest on his behalf. When the man refused to answer calls, he added, he went to see the man in a hotel where he was staying. He saw him talking to another Kuwaiti in the hospital lobby and when he demanded his money back, he assaulted him.

Probe ordered: Deputy Director for Security Affairs Major-General Mohammed Al-Enezi has issued orders to refer two Kuwaitis and a bedoun for interrogation, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the men were arrested in front of a laundry in Riqqa. When a police patrol approached them and asked what they were doing in the area, they said they were waiting for a friend. When police checked their IDs, officers found the two Kuwaitis were wanted by law for committing offences. Police then searched their vehicle and found knives, military uniforms and credit cards stolen from Asians.
