National Day/ Tunisian Envoy Lauds Ties with Qatar, Says Joint Committee to Meet Soon


(MENAFN- QNA) The development and achievements attained by the State of Qatar in different fields made it a role model for others to follow suit, said HE Tunisian Ambassador to Qatar Dr. Mohammed Mundhir Zarif, adding: "That can be attributed to the Qatari leadership vision articulated in Qatar National Vision 2030".

"Qatar’s strategy and action plan along with its clear objectives are implemented in accordance with a carefully studied plan and a specific period of time," Zarif said.

In remarks to Qatar News Agency , HE the Tunisian Ambassador extended on the occasion of Qatar National Day his congratulations to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, wishing Qatar further progress and prosperity.

Zarif also voiced his thanks to HH the Emir for the assistance extended to Tunisian residents in Doha while they were participating in the recent Tunisian elections.

While highlighting the importance of Qatar Vision 2030, the Tunisian envoy said the State bodies are confidently operating in alignment with this vision, away from unconsidered decisions, pointing to Qatari leadership's focus on human beings as they are the center and focus of development and the means of the desired change. "It is no wonder that the State of Qatar has a privileged position regionally and internationally, and occupies a prominent position in the international development statistics and indicators." Regarding Tunisian-Qatari relations, HE the Tunisian Ambassador said they have significantly grown, specifically after the start of Tunisia’s glorious revolution, which Qatar was at the forefront of countries that supported it and continued to back it in political, economic and investment fields.

The Tunisian-Qatari relations after the Tunisian revolution witnessed more cooperation, including the joint high committee, which will meet in Doha soon, he said, adding that the two countries cemented their cooperation through Qatar National Bank" and Ooredoo, one of the largest phone operators in Tunisia, in addition to the daily flights between Tunisia and Qatar operated by Qatar Airways.

Bilateral relations have been further enhanced as Qatar is hosting an increasing number of Tunisians who work here and contribute to the overall development experienced by the State of Qatar, HE the Tunisian Ambassador said. "While preparing to leave Doha soon due to the expiration of my tour of duty, I would like to express my thanks to HH the Emir and to the officials for their cooperation with me during my tenure in the State of Qatar."
