Prime Minister inaugurates Arab Housing Ministers Council meeting in Amman


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) "Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, on Monday, opened the 31st session of the Arab Housing Ministers Council, organized by the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDC), with the participation of a number of Housing Ministers from Arab countries.

The prime minister said that this meeting is being held as the Arab nation is experiencing difficult circumstances, adding that Jordan had and still offers resources to the best of its abilities and notwithstanding its limited potentials, for the Arab nation and people. The Kingdom, he said, is a model of coexistence, acceptance of others, tolerant and reflects true culture of Islam.

Ensour said, 'Tampering with human life and tranquility are tendencies that have spilled over in many countries, something we're witnessing in Damascus, Baghdad, Sinai, Libya, southern Algeria and other places, (in ways) which are far from Islam.' The Minister of Public Works and Housing, Sami Halaseh, said that the council has worked for decades on policies, studies and researches, in order to develop domestic production capacities on one hand, and the product itself on the other hand, to enable Arab citizens to access decent life conditions, taking into account natural, economic and social potentials.

He said Jordan focused on formulating building codes in order to usher in standardization that makes it easier to implement rules and principles ensuring the quality of construction.

At the end of the ceremony, the prime minister honored Jordanian and Arab engineers who have expertise and experience to deliver performance and creativity.
