Majali meets his Danish counterpart

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) "Interior Minister Hussein Majali discussed on Monday with Denmark's Minister for Economic and Interior Affairs, Morten Oestergaard, ways to expand cooperation and partnership between the two countries in economic, political and security fields, as well as the latest regional developments.

During the meeting, Majali stressed the importance of promoting cooperation with Denmark in the fields of police, exchange of expertise and the fight against various forms of crime.

The minister reiterated that Jordan sees terrorism as an 'epidemic' that must be eradicated and eliminated through fighting extremist ideologies, indicating that the government adopted a strategy through various public institutions and civil society organizations to spread awareness about the danger of extremism and terrorism.

Syrian crisis has become a source of constant concern for all services and vital sectors in the Kingdom, particularly energy and water sectors due to the influx of displaced Syrians in Jordan, Majali said, calling for a comprehensive political solution that stops the bloodshed in Syria and preserves the unity of the Syrian territories.

Oestergaard stressed his country's keenness to promote ties with Jordan, and praised the Jordanian approach of embracing economic and political reforms and bearing the burden of hosting Syrian refugees despite the difficult economic conditions in the Kingdom.
