Foreign minister meets with Danish deputy prime minister


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) "Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, on Monday, held talks with Denmark's Minister for Economic and Interior Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister, Morten Oestergaard, on means to cement ties between Jordan and Denmark in addition to developments in the Middle East.

Discussing counter-terrorism efforts, Judeh stressed the need for countering this phenomenon which targets the true image of Islam and said the Kingdom is keen to remain a forerunner in global endeavors designed to address extremism or any other practices that run contrary to Islam's teachings.

With regards to the Palestinian issue, Judeh called for intensifying international peacemaking efforts and push for the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state on pre-1967 borders.

Judeh also spoke about the Syrian refugees crisis and the massive burden placed on the Jordanian economy and infrastructure as a result of hosting a massive influx of Syrian refugees on its territory.

The Danish official hailed Jordan's efforts to establish peace and stability in the Middle East and the Kingdom's reception of a large number of Syrian refugees despite tough economic conditions.
