Ah the sweetlife. Or should that be the ‘suite’ life given the luxurious surroundings in which those who enjoy it find themselves It’s a surreal existence inhabited by actors singers and people with enough celebrity to be followed by the press. With the attention come freebies. A multitude of brands from hotels and restaurants to car and watchmakers wish to throw their wares at the chosen few in order to bask in the residual spotlight.
Film festivals are a great place for manufacturers to court celebrity attention and DIFF is no different. This year the VIP Lounge is the place to go if you’re in the know. It’s choc-full of goodies ready to be handed out to a very select crowd. And when we say select we mean select.
Just because you’re part of the movie extravaganza doesn’t mean you’re going to come away with a truckload of merch. While none of the brands wished to divulge who’s in and who’s not most of them revealed there was a list of about 15 to 20 people who would find premium gifts in their bags if they chose to head down there. We guess Emily Blunt was top of that bill.
Organised by Dubai-based events company Lumin the marques packing out the VIP Lounge are staggering.
Diamond jeweller Tiffany & Co. is lending its pieces to the VIP guests for premiere events award-winning beauty lounge Bedashing is providing red carpet worthy hairstyling official make-up partner MAKE UP FOR EVER is offering its services to VIPs and celebrities to ensure they get that alluring red carpet look and Rivoli is showcasing the best in eyewear from top designers including Tom Ford Mont Blanc Roberto Cavalli and Swarovski. The Lumin team have gone all out to ensure the celebrity guests get nothing but the ultimate VIP experience.
“We’re thrilled to be back for DIFF’s 11th year. Once again our lounge will host some of the finest international and regional brands. The celebrities will most definitely be leaving with some truly fabulous gifts” said Katherine Raso General Manager of Lumin.
“Again located across two suites the lounge list includes regional brands such as O’de Rose boutique Cute Edition and Balu Joias plus international brands including Escada and John Paul Gaultier watches and Haig Club David Beckham’s new drink brand” Katherine added.
