(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) has allocated ambulances and paramedics for Darb Al Saai where National Day celebrations are being held for over two weeks.
The area receives people from all segments of the Qatari society, who come with families to enjoy art, cultural, heritage, and recreational events.
QRC's ambulance vehicles and staff are covering the celebrations area in coordination with the organisers through radio communication to report any case that requires urgent medical intervention by providing instant treatment or referring it to Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) emergency unit.
Dr Hassan Fadel Daloul, Health and Care Coordinator, QRC, and Supervisor of medical coverage of Darb Al Saai, said 10 cases had been reported until now, mostly involving children.
These were minor cases and treated immediately, except for one case that required referral to HMC emergency unit.
He said QRC paramedics are available at Darb Al Saai throughout the celebrations, from 7am to 11pm. They will keep working after the end of celebrations to medically secure workers who will remove installations and clear the site.
A march was organised across Darb Al Saai for workers of state welfare institutions who serve the public not only during National Day celebrations but throughout the year, including QRC, HMC, Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and Doha Municipality.
The march started from one of the gates at Darb Al Saai, beginning with Lekhwiya offices on their small electric tricycles, accompanied by QRC paramedic bikers, walking groups of QRC doctors and paramedics, HMC doctors and nurses, and municipality workers, followed by HMC club car and ambulance vehicle, and finally QRC ambulances.
The march moved around Darb Al Saai and stopped at the central space, where a huge Qatari flag was raised and fireworks went off amid clapping and waving of Qatari flags by everyone.
