Oman Air welcomes VIPs, media aboard inaugural flight to Jakarta


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman Air welcomed VIPs travel agents and journalists aboard its celebratory inaugural flight from Muscat to Jakarta on Sunday. The new service is available since December 12 and offers four flights per week aboard Oman Air's award-winning Airbus A330s.

The inaugural flight was preceded by a cake-cutting ceremony at Oman Air's first and business class check-in area at Muscat International Airport.

Oman Air's chief operating officer Abdulrahaman al Busaidy headed the Oman Air delegation. The event was attended by H E Nasser bin Khamis al Jashmi Undersecretary in the Ministry of Finance who also joined the flight to Jakarta.

Each guest on the inaugural flight was greeted with Oman Air's acclaimed onboard hospitality dining and inflight entertainment. The flight also showcased the airline's new business class seats designed by BE Aerospace. They offer a 17-inch personal monitor and a 77-inch long fully lie-flat bed - one of the longest in the skies.

Following arrival at Jakarta's Soekarno–Hatta International Airport guests experienced the luxury accommodation offered by Ritz Carlton Hotel Jakarta. It included a glittering gala dinner at which Busaidy led celebrations for the new Muscat-Jakarta service.

Throughout their three-day stay guests will also be offered a range of tours and experiences which will give them a unique insight into what the huge diversity and natural beauty Indonesia offers for visitors.

The launch of the Jakarta service together with that of the new service to Manila marks the start of Oman Air's latest ambitious programme of growth. This sees the airline's fleet strength increase from 30 aircraft to around 50 over the next three years. The expanded fleet will enable Oman Air to offer customers a greater choice of destinations increased frequencies on established routes and more convenient connections at Muscat International Airport. It will also offer unbeatable levels of comfort and amenity building on Oman Air's reputation for offering an outstanding passenger experience.
